Iceland is a beautiful country where you can find more than 20 different species of whales in their cold waters. Whales come here during long summers to feed. You can find them mostly in the northern and western part of the island, and there is great chance to see them if you take whale watching tours.
Although many tour companies, Islanders, and research centers care about whales there are still many other people that benefit from them as a product: another type of meat and an exotic one, too.

Therefore, please keep in mind that by buying or consuming their meat you are contributing to their hunting. You can assure your restaurant choices if they have these stickers on their entrances.
Don’t miss the chance to understand their nature and be fascinated by them, watch this documentary by National Geographic for more learning and join the cause to protect them.
If you’ld like to share further information regrading whales in Iceland or other countries please feel free to tell us about it in the comment section, we would love to learn more about it.
